We attended a chainsaw sculpture competition in Soldotna this morning. There were a number of artists competing and it was fun watching them carve. The final judging and awarding of prizes will not take place until tomorrow.

We found a nice chair but, unfortunately, it is too big to fit in the 5th wheel.

There were also some sculptures for sale.

We spent the afternoon and evening visiting with Rex’s cousin Kelly and his wife Laurie who live outside of Soldatna. They are in the processing of finishing a beautiful house they built in the forest. Laurie said earlier this Spring a mamma moose and her baby were in the back yard. We had delicious moose meat and chicken enchiladas for dinner. We enjoyed the visit very much as Rex and Kelly had not seen each other for years.
