June 12, 2024 – Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada
We rode the shuttle to the White Water Walk where we
were able to walk on a boardwalk beside the Whirlpool Rapids.
The Class VI rapids were beautiful.
We were able to get really close to the rapids as we
walked along the boardwalk.
We then walked about a kilometer to ride the Aero Car
that we saw yesterday from the US side. We had to wait
while some maintenance was done on this car that was built in 1913. The ride takes you across Whirlpool Rapids and
back.
The views from the Aero Car were spectacular.
This is looking downriver towards Devils Hole Rapids.
Whirlpool Rapids from across the river before we started back.
Whirlpool Rapids from directly overhead. We can see why it is called Whirlpool Rapids –
it is beautiful. We enjoyed the Aero Car
but were disappointed that the ride only lasted about 10 minutes.
We then took the shuttle to the Butterfly
Conservatory. When we entered, we were
surrounded by beautiful butterflies.
This butterfly landed on Nancy’s hand as she was trying to get a picture of one of the blue butterflies that kept flying past us.
After many tries, we finally got a picture of the beautiful blue butterfly.
After enjoying these beautiful butterflies, we had
lunch at the Garden Café.
After lunch we rode the shuttle to see the Floral Clock. This huge working clock features over 20,000 small plants in a beautiful design that is changed twice a year.
We then rode the shuttle bus back to Table Rock Center
and caught the bus back to the campground.
We enjoyed another great, but tiring, day at Niagara Falls.
These pictures are fantastic. Thank you for this post.
