START OF OUR TRIP TO ALASKA Well we got off to a great start…. We got up early Saturday morning and were ready to leave except for running in our slide-outs. When we ran in the last slide-out we heard a very loud crack – yup, we stripped a gear! We were fortunate to find a new gear (and bought 2 to be on the safe side). It was a good thing we did as we broke the first gear Rex put in and had to use the 2nd. Finally, six hours late, we got underway. We made it as far as Douglas, WY and spent the night in the City Park.
