OUR FIRST YEAR

Because we are starting this blog a year after we started traveling we thought we would start by telling you about our travels last year. After selling our house in Ft. Collins, we both retired on June 30, 2008 and left Ft. Collins on July 4th. We spent 6 weeks in Chama, NM where Rex volunteers on the Cumbres Toltec Scenic Railroad. We had a wonderful time there - Rex really enjoyed his time on the steam train and Nancy took some much needed time relaxing and playing with the dogs, Camille and Cody. We then headed east to Shreve, Ohio where we spent 2½ weeks visiting Rex’s mom, stepdad and many other relatives. We met up with our friends from Colorado, Bob and Jean, in Dayton and toured the National Air Force Museum – what a great place for airplane buffs. Next, we headed for Washington, DC where we stayed in a really nice RV park in College Park, MD that had bus tours into the capitol.
