We went on a boat tour to Seldovia, a small town across Katchemak Bay which can only be accessed by boat or plane. We stopped at Gull Island where we saw lots and lots of sea birds. There was a variety of gulls and we were fortunate to see some Tufted Puffins. There was a Harbor Seal at one end. We went by some islands that were used as fox farms in the 1920s and also homesteaded in the 1950s. Entering Seldovia Harbor we saw a Goldeneye with her chicks. We ate lunch at a small café with a deck overlooking the harbor where we watched a Sea Otter while we were eating. After lunch we walked around town and looked at a few shops. The town holds a chainsaw sculpture competition every year and they have many of the sculptures displayed around town. Here is a bed and breakfast we came across on the old boardwalk.
