August 1 - October 31, 2017, Chama and Aztec NM and Apache Junction AZ

We traveled back to Chama on July 31 st and were ready to start work again on August 1 st .   It will take us a few days to get back into getting up early and working again.   We didn’t do a lot in August except work and enjoy the wildlife and surrounding mountains.     We especially enjoyed the hummingbirds that visited our feeders. And the chipmunks We also enjoyed watching the deer – especially this doe and her fawn that visited almost every day. Rex had a great time getting together with others in the park who like to play and sing.   They were able to play together a few times this fall and we all enjoyed listening to these talented neighbors. We had the body shop in Chama repaint the hood on the Jeep and it makes the Jeep look a lot nicer and newer.     In August we also enjoyed another great dinner...

May 25-June 14, 2015, Chama, NM – continued

  We finally have a couple days with the sun shining at least part of the day so we were able to get a picture of our camp site.   Once again we are fortunate to get a long site so we can park both the truck and the Jeep on our site. The train started running on the 23 rd and it is great to hear the whistles and watch the train go across the trestle behind the RV Park.   The Chama River has gone down some but is still running very high. With the rainy weather we didn’t do much other than volunteer on the train and walk the dogs between rain storms.   Before we knew it, though, our month here has come to an end.   As always, we greatly enjoyed our stay at the Rio Chama RV Park, seeing all our Chama friends and, of course, our work with the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad.   On June 15 th we are heading north to Colorado where they have also had a great deal of rain this spring. ...
