September 28 – October 4, Midland, TX

We left Canyon Thursday morning and drove to Midland, TX where we will spend a week visiting Rex’s daughter, Jen.  We are staying at Midland RV Park which is in the middle of an industrial area.  We have an oil well being drilled right behind the park – you can see it behind and to the right of our motorhome.  It is noisy with the steady hum of the drill, and it lit like a Christmas tree at night.  Glad we are spending most of our time during the day at Jen’s house.

Rex and his daughter Jen.  Her partner, Jeromy, is away for his work so we did not get to see him on this visit.

Jen has three dachshunds, Haley, Penny and Luna.  Her dogs did not like Tacky very much and would occasionally attack him.  Tacky, being a good-natured dog, just tolerated them.

Jen also has a 13-year-old cat named Kiki who mostly stayed away from us.  Tacky was very interested in her but she kept him at bay with swiping at his nose and hissing. Rex enjoyed holding her and playing with her.

We had a very nice visit with Jen and her animals, but we think Tacky will be glad that we are leaving.  We will definitely be glad to leave the RV park with its noise and oily smell.
