May 1-6, 2012 – Midland, TX

We left Benson, AZ on April 30th and headed toward Midland, TX where we are going to visit with Rex’s youngest daughter, Jen.  We stopped in Van Horn, TX and spent the night at the KOA.  We arrived in Midland on May 1st and are staying at the Midessa Oil Patch RV Park.

Boy is it hot here – it is 104 with 50% humidity.  It hit over 100 every day we were here but the humidity did go down some.  It is so hot here that the tents even have air conditioning!  This is tent camping Texas style -  they also had a TV.

We met our new grand puppy – a very cute 11 week old miniature dachshund puppy named Haley.  She is such a sweetie!

Camille and Cody were not sure what to make of this wiggly bundle of energy.  Cody did play some with Haley and her brother, Jack (a Jack Russell-Chihuahua mix Jen has had for 4 years).  Jen also has 3 cats and a Gecko.  The dogs really did enjoy the nice dog park they have here.

We also got to meet Jeremy, the new guy in Jen’s life.  Jeremy is a wind generator technician and we really liked him.  We had a great visit with Jen and her pets and really enjoyed meeting Jeremy.
