November 2009

We have been keeping busy here in Arizona. Rex continues to enjoy working at the Dolly Steamboat. He is a crew member for the cruises and is training as a Captain. He also does maintenance on the boat and upkeep on the grounds. Nancy attends water exercise classes 4 mornings a week and hikes on Tuesdays with a hiking group in the park. Rex and Camille went desert 4-wheeling with a Jeep group and had a great time (Cody is a wimp and doesn’t like to go). We have attended a couple of dinners and breakfasts in the park clubhouse.

On the 15th we drove to Wickenburg, AZ about 89 miles west of here to attend the 30th Annual Four Corners States Bluegrass Festival and Fiddle Championship. We had a great time listening to good bluegrass music and enjoying some good food. The junior and senior fiddle contest and the mandolin championship were really good – there was some amazing talent competing, especially the kids!

Nancy’s parents arrived in Apache Junction on the 15th after spending the summer in Missouri visiting her brother. They own a half-acre a few miles from our park and it is nice to have them close. We spent a few days helping them get settled and with some maintenance chores on their 5th wheel and property.

Our Thanksgiving was really nice – Nancy’s parents came over for a late breakfast and then we had a really nice dinner at our park clubhouse while they went to a friend’s house for dinner.
