Now that we have a fairly good internet connection Nancy spent most of the morning updating our blog. After lunch we took the dogs for a hike on Battery Point Trail. This trail goes through a tall spruce and cedar forest for about a mile and then opens up on the beach. This was a beautiful hike and the dogs got some much needed exercise.
We drove the Mud Bay Road, where we had some beautiful views of Rainbow and Davidson glaciers across Chilcat Inlet.
We drove to Chilkoot Lake this evening to look for bears feeding on salmon in the Chilkoot River. Unfortunately all we saw were people fishing – no bears. We did watch a river otter playing across the river. It was a beautiful area. On the way back to Haines we stopped and watched the ferry to Skagway load vehicles and depart.
We had another nice, warm and sunny day – yeah!
