Nancy is hiking again with a group from our neighborhood.   We go out once a week and enjoy the desert We are so lucky to have such beautiful scenery so close. Saguaro Lake is a favorite hiking spot. We have to do a very steep climb to reach this double arch but it is definitely worth the effort. Our house was too quiet and we couldn’t bear it any longer so we intensified our search for another dog.   It didn’t take long before we found our “Tacky”.   His registered name is Star-Vue’s Stuck Like Glue and so... Tacky fits him.   He is 2 ½ years old and a very gently and quiet dog who loves to sit in your lap and snuggle.   Out on his first hike in the desert. Tacky definitely fills the empty spot that...

November 1 – December 31, 2017 – Apache Junction, AZ

Rex continues to keep busy with handyman work, tai chi classes and his music and Nancy has kept busy with tai chi classes, water aerobics, bocce ball and bunco.   Even though we are keeping busy we are having a hard time with the loss of Camille and Cody.   It is still very hard to come home to an empty house and not being greeted by them.   We have started looking for another dog and have decided we want another English Cocker and as they are not all that common, especially in Arizona, it will take us a while to find one. Rex started Thursday night live at Meridian Manor as a time for residents to get together and play acoustic music, sing, tell jokes or funny stories or anything else we can come up with.   They meet on the 2 nd Thursday of the month and the November and December sessions went very well with lots of singing and playing of guitars and piano. We enjoyed Meridian Manor’s Christmas Parade with lots of decorated golf car...

We traveled back to Chama on July 31 st and were ready to start work again on August 1 st .   It will take us a few days to get back into getting up early and working again.   We didn’t do a lot in August except work and enjoy the wildlife and surrounding mountains.     We especially enjoyed the hummingbirds that visited our feeders. And the chipmunks We also enjoyed watching the deer – especially this doe and her fawn that visited almost every day. Rex had a great time getting together with others in the park who like to play and sing.   They were able to play together a few times this fall and we all enjoyed listening to these talented neighbors. We had the body shop in Chama repaint the hood on the Jeep and it makes the Jeep look a lot nicer and newer.     In August we also enjoyed another great dinner...
