June 23-27, 2015 – Traveling to Port Angeles, WA

We left Bill and Teri’s Tuesday morning and started our drive to Port Angeles, WA.   We stopped Tuesday night in Green River, WY where we stayed at The Travel Camp.   Wednesday we drove to Hagerman, ID and stayed overnight at the High Adventure Camp Park.   On Thursday we stayed at the Eagle Hot Lake RV Resort in La Grande, OR.   As we were driving through the Columbia River Gorge on Friday we had a tire blow out near Hood River.   Luckily there was a place to pull over so Rex could change the tire – which was not a fun job in the 100 degree weather.   The entire drive across Wyoming, Utah, Idaho and eastern Oregon was very hot and dry.   We got into a very bad traffic jam on the North side of Portland and it took over 1½ hours to go 2 miles.   We finally got to I-205 and made it to Woodland, WA where we spend the night at Woodland Shores RV.   Saturday morning we found a Les Schwab Tire Store and purchased a new tire, got it mounted and we were on our way again.

We left Chama Monday morning and drove north through the beautiful southern Colorado Mountains, the San Luis Valley and then through more beautiful mountains in central Colorado.   We arrived at our friend’s, Teri and Bill’s, house in Brighton which is northeast of Denver.   Teri and Bill live on a small acreage and we are able to park in the driveway by their shop. Teri and Bill have two new additions to their family - Chaps and Gracie are 3 month kittens a friend of theirs rescued in Savannah, GA.    They are so cute and kept us entertained with their kitten antics.   Chaps was laying on his sister while we were eating dinner one evening.   Camille and Cody weren’t impressed with the kittens and the kittens were afraid of the dogs. Although, Chaps, the male, did come into the same room that the dogs were in while they were in their cages.  We were able to visit with Nancy’s parents a couple of times while we were in Colorado.   I
